Sheepadoodles by Design in Greenbrier, AR

My name is April Tilley and my family, and I live in the beautiful state of Arkansas! We have been raising Doodles since 2003, and I am blessed to consider this a full-time job. Our dogs and puppies are very much a daily part of our lives.  ​

Our goal is to make the process of adding a furry friend to your family as least stressful as possible. I will be happy to answer any questions you have and provide multiple references from past puppy owners. Thank you again for your interest in our puppies. Located about 40 miles north of Little Rock, we reside in the small town of Greenbrier, AR. My husband and I have celebrated 25 years of marriage, and we have two children. We are very involved with our church and all our kids' activities.

​Sheepadoodles are a cross between the Old English Sheepdog (OES) and a Poodle. A favorite dog breed, the OES nosed its way into history as a herding dog, driving livestock to market. They can retain their ​herding instincts with young children; however, temper this attribute by channeling their energy into training, as pleasing their pack motivates them.  

When crossing the OES to a poodle, you increase the dog's hypoallergenic factor to nearly 100%.  Sheepadoodles are loving, intelligent, and easily trained.  They do require a moderate amount of exercise and stimulation, as well as regular grooming.       ​

Sheepadoodles are very loving, highly intelligent, and make wonderful family dogs. They do require a moderate amount of exercise and stimulation.  Keep in mind the Old English Sheepdog (OES) is a "working dog" and enjoys stimulation and socialization.

​Our Sheepadoodle puppies are reserved long before they are born. If you are interested in a Sheepadoodle puppy, we suggest filling out a puppy application and submitting a deposit. Typical wait time is approximately 4-6 months, sometimes sooner if you are open to gender, color and markings.  

A note on pigment and hair color.  All Sheepadoodle puppies are born with very little or no color (pink) on their nose.  As the puppy matures, their nose will fill in black.  There may be a rare instance where one does not fill in completely.  Sheepadoodles as well as Old English Sheepdogs are born black and white and will usually turn silver and white in their adult stages.  

We offer a two-year Congenital & Genetic Health Guarantee. A warranty against all serious life altering congenital disease or genetic defect is provided for up to 24 months from date of birth of puppy. We perform DNA genetic testing  through EMBARK & Paw Print Genetics that screens for genetic diseases specific to OES and Poodles

​What's Next For Sheepadoodles by Design?

After a lot of prayer and thought, we have decided to no longer breed the F1 Mini (50% Old English Sheepdog & 50% Mini poodle). The F1 requires artificial insemination which can be a very tricky process and timing must be perfect. It can often result in zero puppies, or as little as two puppies which is stressful, heightened by the length of our waiting list and folks depending on us providing puppies. ​

We will focus on mini to medium-sized Sheepadoodles typically under 50 lbs as adults. Our litters mainly consist of Multigen puppies where the parents are both Sheepadoodles and back crosses (F1b, F2b) where a Sheepadoodle is paired "back" to a Poodle. It takes a substantially mature breeding program to produce internal Multigen lines. Naturally smaller in stature our pups are compact in size, but large in personality.

We choose our adult dogs for their health, temperament, confirmation and personality. All of our dogs/puppies are very kid friendly.  We only have a few litters of puppies a year, which allows us to spend lots of quality time socializing them assuring that they will make wonderful family pets.  

We try our best to closely estimate breeding dates, due dates etc...there is never a guarantee as to when our females come in season. There are also occasions where a breeding does not produce a litter or results in a smaller litter than expected.

​Unfortunately, these are circumstances that are beyond our control so please be aware there can be a bit of a wait for a puppy especially if you are looking for a certain color or gender. Please make sure you are fully committed to the possible extended waiting period for a puppy before leaving a deposit.**
